B- Belief- The major religion in Belarus is a chain of Christianity called Orthodox, with the belief in Jesus Christ.. Many Belarusians visit local churches, for Orthodox is a way of life and worship for Belarusians.
D-Dates- Every year on March 8, all of Belarus celebrates International Women’s Day. This holiday celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world.
Bulgaria: D-Dates- On May 6, Bulgaria celebrates St. George’s Day. St.George's Day is celebrated by Christian churches and all places where Saint George is the patron saint.
E- Entertainment- One of the common Bulgarian dances is the Trite Pati. The dance consists of upbeat line dancing, usually with large groups of people, all holding hands in a straight or curved line. It is usually performed at parties or special festival events.
F- Food- A common dinner meal served in Bulgaria is kebapche. This platter consists of pieces of grilled minced meat, usually a mix of pork and beef, added with spices black pepper and/or cummin.
Czech Republic: A- Appearance- As shown in the photo, two girls are seen wearing very bright and colorful dresses. This dress is a traditional Czech Republic Folk dress, which is often worn during festivals or parties.
F- Food- A common side dish served with the main course is mashed potatoes.
H-Housing- In the Czech Republic, most people live in apartments or small estates, such as the one shown in the picture. Depending on income, citizens can live in the urban or rural areas, but more apartments are found in the major cities.
Hungary: G-Government- Hungarian President Ader Janos speaking. Ader is one of the most influential and powerful men in Hungarian politics.
J-Jobs- One of the fastest and most popular routes for transportation is by train. The Hungarian trains are mainly seen in urban areas.
K-Kinds of Environment- Hungary is divided into three main geographic regions: The Great Alfold, Transdanubia, and The North Hungarian Mountains.
Poland: A- Appearance- The traditional Polish folk attire consists of a colorful, poofy dress for women and a suit-like outfit for men.
D-Date- On May 3, Poland celebrates Constitution Day. This holiday celebrates and recognizes the declaration of the Polish constitution.
E- Entertainment- The Kujawaik is a national dance of Poland, usually performed at festivals, plays, and parties.
Republic of Moldova F-Food- A plate of stuffed cabbage is one of the most popular holiday dishes in the Republic of Moldova.
K-Kinds of Environment-The overall climate of Moldova is moderately continental.The summers are warm and long, while as the winter is windy and dry.
L- Language- The main language spoken in the Republic of Moldova is Romanian.
Romania: B-Beliefs- Christianity is the major religion in Romania. The country is filled with many unique churches from all different time periods.
D- Dates- On January 24, Romania celebrates Union of Romanian Principalities Day.
E- Entertainment- Soccer is the national sport in Romania. The country has both a men’s and women’s team that plays games both nationally and internationally every year.
Russian Federation: F-Food- Suchi is a common Russian dish, made up of a bread similar to Pita bread with a cheesy basil topping/
G- Government- Vladimir Putin is the current President of the Russian Federation.
H- Housing- Many Russians live in urban areas, in buildings such as apartments. Russia’s capital, Moscow, is home to many of these estates.
Slovakia: D- Dates- On November 1, Slovakians celebrate All Saints’ Day. This is a celebration of all Christian Saints, where many people crowd in cemeteries, where candles are lit all around the cemetery with flowers surrounding them.
E-Entertainment- On Easter, it is common to see colorfully decorated eggs around Slovakia.
F-Food- Lokse is a famous Slovakian meal. The dish is made up of potato pancakes.
Ukraine: H-Housing- Housing in Ukraine is very similar to that of Russia. There are some estates and apartments more run down than others due to poverty in the area, but there is a wide range of choices both in the urban and rural areas.
I-Information- Education in Ukraine is compulsory. Children begin school at the age of 6 or 7.
J-Jobs- There is a wide variety of jobs all around Ukraine. Most popular jobs in urban areas usually are engineers, technicians, and other jobs with computer expertise.
